Account Deletion Agreement

This Agreement sets out the terms you (the "User") must understand and agree to when deleting your Hanzi Learn (the "App") account. Deleting your account means you have read, understood and agree to all of the terms of this Agreement. If you do not agree, please do not proceed with deletion.

1. What Deletion Means

Deletion means the User voluntarily and permanently terminates their account and all associated data in the App. After the account is deleted, it is deemed revoked, and you will no longer be able to sign in with that account or use any related services.

2. How to Delete

We provide an in-app deletion method — no need to contact support or visit a website:

Path 1: Settings → Account Security → Delete Account;
Path 2: Settings → Privacy Rights → Delete Account.

After you tap delete, the system will ask you to confirm a second time. Once confirmed, the deletion process is triggered.

⚠️ Important: account deletion is irreversible. Once deletion succeeds, all your data — including learning records, saved items and membership benefits — will be permanently deleted and cannot be recovered. Please make sure you have backed up anything you wish to keep before deleting.

3. Data That Will Be Deleted

To safeguard your "right to be forgotten", once deletion succeeds we will immediately and irreversibly delete all data under your account, including but not limited to:

Account entity	Registration information (username, email, password hash, etc.)
Login devices	Bound devices and login sessions (all devices will be forcibly signed out)
Account settings	Personal preferences, learning goals and other configurations
Third-party bindings	Third-party sign-in bindings such as Google / Apple
Learning queue	Daily study plans and pending learning queue
Learning logs	Study check-ins and completion records
Learning activity	Learning-behavior statistics and activity records
Review plans	Ebbinghaus review schedules and progress
Saved data	The characters, words and example sentences you saved
Invitation relationships	Invitation records you sent and received

4. Before You Delete

Any unused PRO / membership benefits will be forfeited together with the account, with no refund or transfer;
Virtual assets under the account (if any) will also be cleared;
If there are unfinished transactions or disputes on the account, we recommend resolving them first;
After deletion, the email bound to the account may be used to register a new account, but historical data will not be restored.

5. Data Retention and Deletion Timeframe

Once the deletion request succeeds, the above user data is deleted in real time from the system. To fulfill security-auditing and compliance obligations, we retain only a single deletion audit record that contains no personal content (recording only the deleted account ID, deletion time, the number of rows deleted per data category, and the trigger source), used to demonstrate that the deletion is traceable. This audit record does not contain any of your identifiable personal information.

6. Your Rights

Under applicable laws and regulations (including but not limited to the Personal Information Protection Law and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)), you have the right to access, correct and delete your personal information. 7. Minors

If the User is a minor, please carry out the deletion with the accompaniment and consent of a guardian. We recommend that the guardian first review the learning data and benefits in the account.

8. Changes to This Agreement

We may update this Agreement from time to time. The revised Agreement will be published on this page and indicated at the relevant location in the App. Your continued use of the deletion feature constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
